Nonprofits in India face an uphill climb in their quest to bring large-scale positive change in India. In India, nonprofits primarily rely on private funding and leverage government support to secure access to key platforms like schools and services of frontline workers. To scale, nonprofits need to employ low-cost, easy-to-replicate solutions. The report aims to identify the different models through which nonprofits can scale and the major challenges plaguing the nonprofit sector in India. Primary interviews and secondary research highlight that financial sustainability and managing government partnerships remain the key challenges. Major organizations have introduced a wide range of innovative solutions to mitigate their impact and help grow their impact.
