Introduction:
We, Sai Surya Duggirala, Impan D R and Duppala Vamsikrishna, being students pursuing “Masters in Business Administration (Food and Agribusiness Management) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, have been curious about the ESG metrics in agribusiness realm. As we delved deep into the world of business while closely observing the trends in the industry, jumped to the conclusion that businesses now have the tremendous responsibility of embracing sustainability, more than ever! With scientific fraternity and the public raising their concerns over the footprints of corporations and businesses across the world, the need for embracing sustainability has become an important step to help businesses sustain and the Agribusiness sector seems not to be an exception. With the frequency of environmental and social concerns over agricultural and allied sectors’ operations across the world increasing, we felt the need for a project study on ESG benchmarking for various organizations and haveapproached Prof. Neha Tripathi for guidance on the project.
