It was anything but a typical day in November of 2018 at the Corporate Office of Nestlé India in Gurgaon. Aparna Chopra, Business Head of Breakfast Cereals for Nestlé India, had a lot to be anxious about. It had been more than three months since she launched Nestlé’s Breakfast Cereals to the Indian market, the journey had been exhausting but adventurous. From strategizing and conceptualizing how the products can be manufactured in India, to overseeing the launch of Breakfast Cereals, Aparna and her team were behind it all. Waiting outside the office of Mr. Suresh Narayanan, the Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India Limited, and the man who backed the idea of Nestlé’s Breakfast Cereals in India, she was reflecting on her professional journey so far. From working with Nestlé as a management trainee in her formative years to her journey with Yum! Brands, and a brief stint with Lenskart, Aparna has played the role of a marketer, a consultant, and a strategizer across industries and geographies. So naturally when Nestlé
approached her to lead the ideation of a new category launch in India, Aparna felt it was only right to come back to the company that molded her career so far, as a Business Head in a top management position.
