Team cohesion has a long history in the science of team effectiveness. It has been studied and discussed for over 50 years. However, it is still not well understood and little is known about how to measure it, on its evolution and maturation and in how to promote and develop it. Yet, still many organizations that employ team-based systems depend on teams being cohesive. This volume highlights recent thinking, methods and applications for understanding and promoting team cohesion in organizations. The volume offers two insights - motivated by funding from the Army Research Institute and NASA - into what makes a team effective and cohesive.
