Summary: The National University of Educational Planning and Administration has created a comprehensive database on elementary education in india under one of its most prestigious, known as, District Information System for Education (DISE). Off late, MIS for Secondary level of eduation has also been developed which covers both Secondary and Higher Secondary schools/sections of all the districts of the country. What is more remarkable about DISE/SEMIS is that it has drastically reduced the time-lag in availability of educational statistics which is now down from 7-8 years to less than a year at the national and only a few months at the district and state levels.
