The yearbook is an annual publication of Centad. It is an attempt to place development at the heart of trade negotiations. Trade has the potential to life millions of people out of poverty. However, it is important to understand that trade on its own cannot lead to poverty alleviation. For trade to make a substantive dent on poverty it is important to root it in appropriate policy frameworks at multilateral, regional and national level. Further, in order to understand how trade will make a substantive dent on poverty there is a need to undertake rigorous research with the objective to understand the impact of trade on developmental factors such as employment and income generation.
