Policy evaluation with computable general equilibrium models

Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextSeries: Routledge Applied EconomicsPublication details: London Routledge 2002 Description: xxiii, 367 pISBN:

Subject(s): DDC classification:
  • 339.5015195
Summary: "This book gathers together a large collection of the papers which were presented at the conference, subdivided under the headings Methodology, Imperfect Competition, Environment, Pension Reform, Miscellaneous. This volume also deals with some of the most urgent policy problems such as pension reform, environmental and industrial policy. In addition, the book contains some informative and ambitious papers on methodological issues. One major problem of most CGE papers is that they usually come as ""black boxes"" to the general reader since the theoretical models, the computer codes and the data cannot be presented in length due to observe space constraints. It is common practice just to roughly outline the analytical framework of the simulation model in the main paper and to concentrate on the interpretation of the results obtained. This, however, is somewhat unsatisfactory."
