The introduction and commercialization of PET was pioneered to a large extent, by Eastman Kodak. Their broad experience in polyester chemistry gave them an early advantage in the bottle polymer business. The soft drink industry embraced the new package wholeheartedly. Consumers voted their preference for the light weight, shatte-resistant PET package for their soft drinks. In this report an analysis has been done on the market segment, size fragmentation, penetration and relative advantage of different segments and based on this analysis the market strategy has been proposed.
