Propelled by greater investment in healthcare, technological improvements, and a growing demand for high-quality medical services, the Indian healthcare sector has experienced exceptional growth. In this broad field, diagnostic medical services are essential to patient care and necessary for efficient disease management and therapy. The financial complexities of diagnostic services, particularly the nuances of cost structures and pricing strategies, are not well-documented despite their crucial importance. By performing a thorough investigation of the costs associated with diagnostic services, with a particular focus on laboratory and imaging services, this project aims to close this information gap. This research attempts to dissect the various levels of cost components using activity-based costing and other widely used costing techniques.
