The legal landscape surrounding drone regulations is developing constantly, with many countries adopting and modernizing laws related to drones. In this report, a systemic review of the extant drone regulations across several jurisdictions is undertaken while keeping the Indian law in focus. A compliance checklist for India has been prepared along with studying regulations of USA, EU, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The objective was to understand the differences in how the nascent industry is regulated across different jurisdictions. This has guided our recommendations as to how India can better evolve its laws to improve its ease of doing business while giving an impetus to the drone manufacturing and operation ecosystem. The compliance checklist shall be helpful for any entity looking to start drone operations in India.
